T.A.G. Team Information
The T.A.G. Team (which stands for True Acts of Goodness) will be a weekly group of students who are on the look-out for other students performing helpful or good acts for other students. They can then give them a ticket which allows them to go to the Treasure Chest in the office. I can't wait to see all the good acts that our students get caught performing.
Medianet Kids- The Place to Go for Fun and Videos!
The above website is maintained by Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES and includes more than 14,000 digital videos that students can access both at school and at home. The school code is gvcs, and while I cannot write the password here, it is an easy one to remember (like maybe our mascot). Feel free to give this awesome resource a try!

The Flip Flop Debate:
I have spent a good deal of time researching why flip flops are dangerous. Please take some time to read the articles below which outline some of the problems associated with prolonged wearing of these summer shoes. After looking at this today, with lots of input from students, faculty, and administration, I have decided that students in grades PreK-3 may not wear flip flops, while students in grades 4-6 are encouraged not to wear flip flops.

Enrichment Notes 3/12/07
It's here! The first Clay Animated movie is now available below! The 6th grade Enrichment group finished their movie, The Clay Tricks, today. I feel that I must explain the nature of this movie a little so that there is not a misunderstanding about the content. The students had to research what type of movies people (the intended audience) wanted to see. The results came in that they wanted to see a "Matrix-style" movie so that's what they created. Instead of the "Matrix" we have "The Clay Tricks." This is a movie about a heroic group of inter-stellar travellers who save the Earth by destroying evil Martians.
THE CLAY TRICKS
The Animal's Revenge is now available to watch! This story was created by 5th graders using stop action photography. The story takes place in a disco, around the farm, Seattle, and the woods. It's about mutated animals taking revenge on a Disco-owning Farmer.
THE ANIMAL'S REVENGE
School Gone Wild is now available to watch! This story was created by 6th graders using stop action photography. The story takes place in the school. Main characters include Mr. Ed, Ms. Presutti, Mr. Olham, Ms. Burger, and the Evil Custodians. The school has truly gone wild in this movie!
SCHOOL GONE WILD
What I Did in School is now available to watch! This story was created by 5th graders using stop action photography. The story involves Edgar, who has head issues, and other friends. There is also a somewhat crazy dinosaur involved. Enjoy the movie!
WHAT I DID IN SCHOOL
READING FIRST NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Students at GVCS have reached and exceeded their Reading goal of having our Kindergarten through Third grades at 80% Benchmark! In September, I told the kids that if they reached 80%, they could shave my head and paint it to look like the charts that we keep track of the reading scores on. The combination of our awesome teachers, our hard-working students, and the many hours of parent help made this accomplishment possible! I am incredibly blessed to be a part of so awesome a school!
